All dogs require a license from the township annually. Proof of current vaccinations must be provided. Fees are $8.00 for unneutered males and females and $5.00 for neutered males and spayed females. A $5.00 late fee is charged for all licenses after April 1.

The first installment of real estate payments is due January 31st of the following year. Payments are made to the Town of Newport Treasurer. The mailing address is indicated on the tax bill. Payments after January 31st are paid to the Columbia County Treasurer.
The property owner is liable for timely payment of taxes regardless of whether you received a bill in the mail.

The Annual Town Meeting is held at the Newport Town Hall on the third Tuesday of April. This is the time when any concerns can be voiced to the community.
Per Wis. State Stat. 125.04(3)(f)(1), all applications for licenses to sell alcohol beverages shall be filed with the Town at least 15 days prior to the granting of the license - which takes place at the Town Board meeting that meets once a month. In addition, State Statute also requires notice of the application to be published in the local newspaper. Please be aware of these requirements when planning for your license as there are no exceptions to the 15 day waiting period and licensing process.
